Between Composting and Reuse

Certain packaging options are compostable, meaning they can be processed alongside organic waste in composting facilities, offering an eco-friendly end-of-life solution. Composting locally ensures minimal environmental impact. The tableware and packaging designed for reuse, it means can be washed and reused multiple times, promoting sustainability and reducing waste.

NUPIK CERTIFICATIONS

We’re also convinced that it’s hyper important to achieve certifications on different topics to make sure that our standards resonate with the rest of the world. Find some examples below.

TUV INDUSTRIAL COMPOST

The products with the OK industrial compost label are guaranteed as biodegradable in a plant industrial composting, aligned with the Directive EU packaging (94/62/EEC).

SPANISH STANDARD UNE-53928 & EUROPEAN STANDARD EN 12875

Lifecycle
¿WHAT HAPPENS AFTER USE?

Objective: relieve stress on our environment and reduce waste as much as possible.

Many paper and fiber items are (home) compostable. This means that you can compost them yourself (home compostable), or that they can be composted by industrial partners to fasten the process and filter out any remaining residu.

All (single use) plastics we use are either already recycled (R-PET) or recyclable. You can dispose all items in the bin and everything will be recycled with regular waste streams, according to your local waste management. All recovered material will be industrially cleaned and re-grinded to re-use or incinerated to use the released energy in other production processes.

Reusables work with a closed loop system. Since all items are used multiple times, collecting and washing is necessary. Local washing facilities can help out with the logistics and return all items squaky clean. When an item is broken or worn out, it can be recycled as well. Since the items have allways been in a closed loop in a foodsafe environment, it can be regrinded to be mixed in the material mix of the same item, making it a fully closed loop.
